A tourist has vowed to 'never return' to Blackpool after claiming to witness a young child nearly drown on Blackpool beach during the resort's famous air show.
They said they were shocked by the apparent lack of lifeguards - something Blackpool Council, who managed the beach, vehemently deny. The tourist also mentions the 'stench of weed' and the 'flying ants', saying they found the popular seaside town 'disgusting'. "The worst experience however was when a four year old boy was drowning in the sea, There was literally no one around, I ended up running up and down the pier to try and find help. Luckily there was a doctor on the beach doing CPR, if he wasn’t there I would hate to think the outcome. Luckily the doctor got him breathing again. There wasn’t a lifeguard in sight which I find appalling. I will never return to this awful place.
During the air show, the crew was called out four times with the Atlantic 85 lifeboat remaining in the sea for the duration of the event due to the number of people in the sea and on the beach. The crew rescued a small child in difficulty at Central Pier, a man in the water at North Pier, a second small child in difficulty at North Pier and a missing child.
