Finally re-open!
Blackpool Zoo is edging closer to welcoming back the roar of some of its most famous residents and restore the 'Pride of Blackpool'.
The new-improved facility is designed to cater for the specific needs of the big cats. Upgrades include increased indoor space, extended external paddocks and improved keeper facilities. Zoo director Darren Webster said the project had been "meticulously planned" to "secure the long-term future of big cat species" when it was announced the enclosure would temporarily shut. He added: "It’s time to look to the future while celebrating the past here at Blackpool Zoo and I am sure this summer will be the best one yet.”
