The RTE star is already halfway through her pregnancy
Blathnaid Treacy kept her pregnancy under wraps for so long as baby news can be triggering for a lot of people. The RTE presenter shared that she and husband Charlie Moon are expecting their first child this summer.
Blathnaid is now halfway through her pregnancy and relied on "lots of hoodies and big, baggy clothes" to hide the news. "It's funny, when you get pregnant it's so exciting and then the first three months you have to sort of not tell anyone", she told Jennifer Zamparelli on 2FM. "You have to be aware, it's quite a sensitive subject as well, and you have to be careful who you say it to and how you say it as well. We're just so happy." Jennifer asked Blathnaid if she felt people are getting better at being conscious of pregnancy loss, to which she replied: "I think people are much better at speaking about losses. I think everybody knows somebody who has suffered a loss.Blathnaid managed to hide her pregnancy but revealed some of her social media followers correctly guessed. that she was expecting. She added: "Nobody said it to me but actually when I put it up [on Instagram], I'm hosting the Lotto this month, and a few people said, 'My mum spotted your bump!'"Posting a snap of her growing bump on Instagram, she wrote: "We can't wait to meet you," she wrote. "Our little lady arrives this summer.Blathnaid and Charlie have been together for over a decade and the jazz musician asked her the big question when they were on holidays in Mexico in 2018. They bought their first house together in 2020 after renting it for six years and are in the process of renovating it together. Sharing the news at the time, she wrote: ""The funny thing about this picture is we're holding the key to our first home, but we've been renting this house for 6 years...so we already had the key. "What a way to finish off 2020 and to officially put down roots in a neighbourhood we already call home is the best feeling in the world."READ MORE
