The EU is gearing up to fine social media platform X due to its policy around ‘blue tick’ identification that ‘deceives users’.
EU tech regulators ruled yesterday that Mr Musk's social media company breached European Union online content rules.Tech Editor Adrian Weckler explained since Mr Musk bought Twitter and rebranded it, the blue tick feature has transformed.
“If you go on X these days, you'll see a lot of blue ticks who are grifters who are trying to make money.”Under the new Digital Services Act, the EU found that this system is “a bit of a crock”.
