Bobbi Arlo, a rising Irish singer, has been announced as the first contestant vying for the honor of representing Ireland at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. She is among six artists selected to compete in The Late Late Eurosong special, slated for February 7th. This program will ultimately decide which Irish musician will take the stage in Switzerland this May for the prestigious Eurovision event. Arlo's song, Powerplay, will make its debut at 3 p.m.

today on RTÉ Radio 1’s The Ray Darcy Show. Throughout the week, the remaining five Eurovision hopefuls will be revealed on the show, each interviewed by Ray Darcy and having their songs broadcast. Bobbi Arlo is being hailed as one of Ireland's most exciting and sought-after new musical talents. Her sound is described as vibrant and enigmatic, drawing inspiration from artists like Shygirl and Sega Bodega. She seamlessly blends club-ready beats with deeply personal and emotionally raw lyrics. Her track, Feel It, was even nominated for Song of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Awards. Hailing from Dublin, Arlo has held a variety of jobs, including working at Rituals, Dunnes Stores, and Cineworld. She splits her time between Dublin and Glasgow, Scotland. Since releasing her first single in 2020, she has established a remarkable career. Bobbi has sold-out shows in Dublin and graced the stages of prominent festivals, including Spain's Primavera. In 2024, her rising star power was further solidified when she was named Gay Times & Coca-Cola Artist of the Year. While Arlo possesses a distinctive funky look, she maintains that her style and appearance aren't influenced by anyone. Speaking to the Irish Independent, she shared: 'My visual look is mad. It's literally whatever I like at the time. I'm very indecisive. I bounce between streetwear and grunge. It's like day and night. I suit my many different personalities.' I like edgier things. I wear a lot of black stuff. I just enjoy wearing whatever I feel like on that day. I don't think I have a look because I change it so often.
