His remains were discovered beside a burning car at Rowans Little, Walshestown, Balbriggan, Co Dublin last night.
It is understood that the man, who was found beside the car, was shot once in the head and once in the chest.The scene remains sealed off this afternoon. A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a car on fire at the above location and discovered a male with apparent gunshot wounds beside the car.
