The diet industry and our bad body image, our culture appears to be veering back to its obsession with attaining dangerously thin bodies January has always been a bad month for people with body image issues, but for the past few years, it seemed like things were improving.
We even saw the companies that still fed into old-school diet culture, such as those selling weight-loss meals or intense workout programmes, shift their language away from fatphobia and body shaming towards something more inclusive; Weight Watchers is now simply known as WW, for example.
