The Greyhounds worked hard to get the equalizer before halftime when Murphy booted a corner kick into the net in the 25th minute. The kick curved in over a scrum of players, aided by a brisk wind. Not only did the Greyhounds get the equalizer, but they started to dominate possession and control the attack.
“I tried to establish myself in warmups and make big saves in ,” LeMaster said. “So I was able to come in fully prepared.” “We kept putting the ball in the box,” Boerne senior forward Sam Theiss said. “1-1 at halftime is a huge score. Brian almost made one when he hit the post, which would have been an insane finish.”
Theiss keyed the play by working along the left flank before turning toward the net. He beat his defender and was looking at a one-on-one chance against Yost, but he was dragged down before it could happen.
