A Northampton boot factory that supplied WW1 soldiers has now been turned into flats. Hawkins Court, originally constructed in the 1880s, also provided walking and riding boots worn by Queen Victoria and Princess Anne.

A joint venture for local developers, ACCA Group and award-winning OEH Group, the site sits on the corner of St Michaels Road and Overstone Road. It will comprise 89 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments from £145,000, with full completion in late-2023.A launch event took place at Connells Northampton on Saturday, , and anyone interested in a new home can make an appointment.

There has been much speculation surrounding the future of the beautiful building in recent years. It fell into ruin and was abandoned in 2000, with plans for flats dating back to 1998.
