Absolutely awful news. RIP
While enjoying the sunshine at the weekend, a group of lads decided to go for a swim close to a Lock at Knostrop Fall Lock 3, off George Mann Road, in Hunslet. But the teen soon disappeared and as his friends desperately tried to save him, emergency services rushed to the scene.
About an hour and a half later, his body was found and pulled from the lock. Despite the best efforts of those around, the boy was pronounced dead shortly after, reports LeedLive.A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 4.32pm yesterday , police received a concern for safety report for a male in the canal by Thwaite Lane, Leeds. Emergency services attended and recovered a teenage male from the water.
"He received medical attention at the scene, but was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
