BREAKING: A 15-year-old boy has died after a group of teenagers ‘got into difficulty’ in a river in Carlisle. A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman also said another 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital.
A 15-year-old boy has diedAnother boy, aged 14, was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition following the incident yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called to the River Eden, near Warwick Road, at around 6.40pm after four teenagers were reported to be struggling in the water.The body of the 15-year-old, who had gone missing, was discovered by police today near to the Rosehill area shortly after 1.30pm. A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said: ‘The discovery of the body followed an extensive multi-agency search operation in response to an incident where a group of teenage boys had got into difficulty in the River Eden.‘No formal identification has yet been confirmed, however the family of the 15-year-old have been informed. They are being supported by specialist officers.
