A new Sky documentary reveals that Boyzone, the iconic Irish boy band, initially had two hidden members who were dismissed by their manager Louis Walsh. This article explores the stories of Richard Rock and Mark Walton, their time with Boyzone, and their individual paths to success and challenges after leaving the band.
Before they hit the big time, Boyzone had two hidden members who were shown the door by their no-nonsense manager Louis Walsh.
In the documentary, Shane Lynch shared: "After some photoshoots, Louis Walsh wasn't happy with how we were looking, and there were these two guys, Mark Walton and Richard Rock. He just decided they didn't fit in the group, he just decided that they didn't gel and two of them were out". Richard's wild ways, filled with hard-partying and drug-taking, led to his exit from the band. He faced difficult times as the band soared without him but later shifted his focus to songwriting and spinning records as a DJ in Dublin’s nightlife scene.
Though his current whereabouts are undisclosed, it's believed that Richard is relishing a life away from the public eye.View gallery Mark Walton may have missed out on the band's final lineup, but he has amassed considerable wealth. His venture, 5th Avenue, boasts collaborations with A-listers like Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias.
