It comes after standards setting body the College of Policing published guidance for officers in England and Wales to consider all evidence such as CCTV, doorbells and dashcams if it could lead to a suspect or stolen property. The Home Secretary is issuing new guidance to police which will specify that they are expected to investigate every crime

“It is, therefore, important that we put it back on the Government and ask what provisions it has made to help officers provide the world-class service the public truly deserves?”
