IT problems are causing 'gridlock' at Manchester Airport this morning with passengers reportedly waiting for 'hours' at check-in desks.
The airport said the IT system outage is 'affecting some processes'. A spokesperson apologised for disruption. Passengers have reported 'gridlock' with 'three-hour queues' at check-in. One passenger sent a photo of queues at check-in desks in Terminal 1 and said that information screens were 'down'.Work is ongoing to fix the problem. In a statement, a Manchester Airport spokesperson said: "Manchester Airport is currently experiencing an IT system outage which is affecting some of our processes.
"We have contingencies in place and are working with our airlines and other partners to keep disruption to a minimum, and to get travellers through the airport as smoothly as possible. Staff are on hand in our terminals to support. Passengers are advised to check with their airline for up-to-date travel advice.
"We apologise for any disruption this may cause to your journey and thank passengers for their patience."
