Brendan Gleeson is set to star alongside Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy in a gripping new psychological thriller coming to Sky and NOW later this year.

The Good Daughter has just dropped its first-look trailer, giving fans a glimpse at the six-part series based on Karin Slaughter's bestselling novel of the same name. The story follows sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn, whose lives were fractured by a single night of violence 28 years ago. Now a lawyer like her father, Charlotte, played by The White Lotus star Meghann Fahy, is the first witness on the scene when another attack rocks the small town of Pikeville.

The shocking incident forces the estranged sisters to reunite, bringing painful memories and long-buried secrets back to the surface. Rose Byrne stars as Samantha, while Gleeson plays their father Rusty, a defence attorney who insists his daughters come together following the latest act of violence. The first trailer offers a glimpse at the sisters' complicated relationship, flashing back to their childhood as they are followed by gunmen before jumping forward to the aftermath of the latest attack.

The series promises plenty of twists and dark revelations as Charlotte and Samantha are forced to confront their shared past and question the price they have paid for trying to be the "good daughter". Alongside Gleeson, Byrne and Fahy, the cast includes The Crown star Olivia Williams, Michael Dorman, Harper Steele, Audrey Grace Marshall and Drew Ann Cheek. The Good Daughter will premiere on Sky and NOW in Ireland and the UK in November
