A misplaced back heel from the Parkhead winger left the boss far from happy
Peter Grant immediately spotted a furious response from Brendan Rodgers after an attempted flick by Celtic star Mikey Johnston .
It was a thrilling pre-season friendly encounter as the Scottish Premiership winners faced off against their English Premier League counter-parts - with the Hoops taking a 3-1 lead into the break against Pep Guardiola 's men. However, Celtic would ring the changes at half-time with winger Johnston among those to join the action after the restart.
Youngster Maximo Perrone almost instantly pulled a goal back for City - leaving the Hoops on the back foot as they attempted to hold their advantage despite relentless attacks from the Sky Blues in North Carolina. Greg Taylor attempted to spearhead a counter-attack down the left and found Johnston. However, the former West Brom loanee looked to back heel the ball forward - but sent it straight out of play. That immediately sparked a reaction from Rodgers.
The boss could be seen striding down his technical area and appeared to vent his fury at the Ireland international. It quickly caught the attention of Grant on Celtic TV, who said: "Brendan doesn't look too happy with Mikey Johnston after that flick and you can see why after you have just conceded."
