The Hoops could lose up to five key players if all are selected by their countries for the tournament at the turn of the year. That has prompted the Scottish champions to plan ahead in for the January market.
Brendan Rodgers insists Celtic January transfer plans are all in hand with key men including Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu potentially heading to the Asia Cup.
The Hoops gaffer admits planning for such situations is all about 'strategy' and insists the Scottish champions will be prepared. If the answer is not inside the building then naturally they will look out with to recruit in the areas required with money available to spend when the wheeling and dealing begins at the turn of the year for a month.
“It doesn’t change our plans for January as it’s not a surprise. We knew it was there. We spoke about it in the summer leading into this window. We have that in hand and we know what our ideas are for that. “Is it a big loss for us ? Yeah, but it’s always an opportunity for someone else. Everyone is replaceable. You want to have all your squad here but we’ve known all along they won’t be so we’re prepared.
