“It’s been a long journey. I’ve lost many people to cancer, even as recently as a few weeks ago'

Brian Kennedy was told he “could have a colostomy bag or a body bag” after being diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2016.

Brian recently celebrated four years of clear scans, explaining that he’s headed “in the right direction. “It was in terms of the colostomy bag saving my life or if I missed that opportunity I would go straight into palliative care and die. Those were my two choices.“It doesn’t take that long to get used to having a stoma or two bags in my case. It’s a lifesaver. I thank my surgeon every time I go to the loo. He saved my life.”
