Britain's Got Talent fans have been left devastated after learning of the tragic death of former semi-finalist Emma Jones, who wowed judges and viewers with her incredible voice
Emma was 23 years old when she shot into the limelight in 2015 after her remarkable rendition of Andrea Bocelli's "Ave Maria" on the popular ITV talent show. It was her incredible vocal talent that caught Judge David Walliams ' attention, who complimented: "You should be confident Emma very few of us could ever sing like that."
After receiving a standing ovation for her first performance, she shared: "I couldn't believe I got a standing ovation. I was the best day in my whole, entire life." For her semi-final act, she performed Sarah Brightman's "Pie Jesu", with backup from a guitar-playing quartet. Judge Alesha Dixon admired Emma's progressive confidence, stating: "It's so lovely to see you coming out of your shell," while Simon Cowell added: "It was fantastic.
Devastated fans shared their grief, with one writing: "So sad Emma passed away. It breaks my heart, especially realizing she suffered with inner pain and deep insecurities. Such a precious, sensitive girl." Another expressed: "I remember her performance of Ave Maria. I am saddened to hear of her cancer. We loved her in America as well."
