The finalist confirms he tried out for the show in the past.
Chatting about his experience entering the competition, Thorpe explained he'd planned to audition in previous years, but never made it in front of the judges.
"I think I did it twice and it just happened that I couldn't make that date of the audition because of the Duke of Edinburgh Award or something like that," he told."And then I remember one time in Sheffield, I think the event got cancelled or something like that." Thorpe explained that last time he was due to audition for the show, he dropped out as his nerves overwhelmed him and he struggled to sleep the night before.
"I was really quite scared so I thought, you know, it's not for me, it's not my path at that time. I was just terrified of being on the screen," he said.
