A British-Israeli hostage who was abducted by Hamas alongside his mother has been murdered in captivity, it has emerged.
Hamas, which is designated a terrorist group by the UK government, last month released undated footage of Popplewell showing him visibly bruised and injured in his right eye, talking to the camera to give his name and age. An Israeli community has now confirmed Popplewell's death, issuing a statement saying: 'Kibbutz Nirim announces with deep sorrow the death of abductee Nadav Popplewell in the captivity of Hamas in Gaza.'Popplewell was taken captive alongside his mother Channah Peri, 79, from their home in Nirim during Hamas' October 7 attack.
The chilling, 11-second clip ended with a question mark on the screen while ominous music played in the background.
