Rumours of a high-profile collaboration between the pair have been brewing for months after a landmark court hearing in November last year which ended Spears’ controversial 13-year conservatorship
The pop star had previously vowed never to perform again while under proxy control of her management team, which included members of her family. The 40-year-old is still locked in a legal battle with her father Jamie Spears over his alleged misconduct during the conservatorship., after the pop icon reissued several previous recordings during lockdown.
“I haven’t shared my voice in an extremely long time … maybe too long,” she captioned the video on Instagram. Spears heralded the end of her 13-year conservatorship last year as the “best day” of her life, having previously described the contract as “demoralising and degrading”.
