New research has discovered that those who vape are at risk of developing bronchitis if they - or others around them - smoke normal cigarettes.
Young people have been warned that they could get a serious respiratory infection if they are vaping.
When bronchitis sticks around for a long time, it becomes chronic bronchitis, which then is known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease , reports The Liverpool Echo.Experts have called for officials to study the effects of vaping products on the respiratory system - following one of the first studies that has investigated vapers who also smoke cannabis or cigarettes.
Symptoms of bronchitis were twice as possible among those who used a vape in the last 30 days, which experts defined as a daily cough for three months in a row, suffering from an official diagnosis of bronchitis in the last year, or dealing with congestion or phlegm without developing a cold. "It suggests that regulatory assessments of the population health cost underestimate the effects of late adolescent and young adult e-cigarette, cannabis and tobacco product use."
