We preview all of this week's biggest concerts, including four shows from Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, and the first big outdoor music festival of the year

There are a number of high-profile gigs taking place around Ireland in the week ahead, including a series of shows from rock 'n' roll icon Bruce Springsteen .

Look at the official live Born To Run video with footage from the stage and it feels like double — you can’t see the horizon. After indulging lifer fans with deep cuts like Backstreets, The E Street Shuffle and Johnny 99, at one point he played a back-to-back power section featuring The Rising, Born in the USA, Badlands, Thunder Road and Born To Run to land the plane in iconic style.

Tickets to Thursday's gig in Cork are available here, while there are still seating tickets for next weekend's concert at Croke Park and a number of standing tickets via Ticketmaster resale here.Shabazz Palaces’ last show in Dublin’s Sugar Club finally marked that axis point where they left the hiphop realm and were beamed into a Sun Ra portal — and that’s not just because scenes from the avant-garde cosmic jazz explorer’s film Space is the Place was beamed behind them.

At nearly 40 years old, house and techno now spans generations, with all the joy and trappings of nostalgia and ‘legends’. But even if you’re an Orbital hoarder completist, you’ll be in Vicar Street for the all-time rave classics like Chime, Impact and Lush, and the delicate melancholy of Halcyon and Belfast, while the brothers trigger synths and sequencers in a face-off with their iconic LED torch glasses. In 2022 singer-songwriter Mitski Miyawaki released the album Laurel Hell, accompanied by burned-out interviews saying she was giving up the music industry.
