Bucks Fizz star Jay Aston's daughter 'will be permanently scarred' amid meningitis battle
Bucks Fizz star Jay Aston has shared how she "willed" her teenage daughter Josie to "make it" as she lay in a hospital bed fighting bacterial meningitis.
"It’s been absolutely devastating. We were told it was 50/50 whether she would pull through. We still don’t know when she’ll be coming home," Jay explained to the Mirror. “I’ve been doing a lot of praying. She’s my world – we’re ridiculously close. I just couldn’t imagine being without her.” Josie then developed a headache, neck pain and temperature, which were not relieved by pain killers. She swiftly called 111 for an ambulance, but it didn't come.
