There were also talks about introducing pay-related benefits for people who lose their jobs which could see them paid 60% of their weekly salary or up to €450 a week for six months after they become unemployed.No exact time has been given, but Finance Minister Michael McGrath is expected to present it at around 1pm. Estimated to cost a total of €14.4 billion, the state’s spending package for next year will include a core budget of €6.4 billion. This will be made up of €5.25 billion in spending increases and €1.15 billion in tax cuts.
