Social Minister Heather Humphreys has secured a record number of lump sum payments, all of which will be paid out before Christmas. This includes two double Child Benefit payments in November and December, a double payment for pensioners, carers, and the unemployed in October, and a new 'baby boost' triple Child Benefit payment for newborns.

In addition to the traditional “Christmas bonus” double Social Welfare payment in December, there will also be a double payment for pensioners, carers and the unemployed in October.Another permanent lump sum payment will also be introduced as part of Budget 2025. He had fought for a quadruple payment but this was considered unlikely following news of the “double double” Child Benefit payment.
