Burberry is hoping a British boss can complete its half-completed journey to luxury status, writes LJucca
British fashion house Burberry said on Oct. 20 it had named Jonathan Akeroyd as its new chief executive officer.
Akeroyd, 54, is currently chief executive officer of Gianni Versace, owned by U.S.-listed Capri. He was at the helm of fashion brand Alexander McQueen between 2004 to 2016.Burberry shares were unchanged at 18.31 pounds by 0900 GMT on Oct. 20.Models present creations during the Burberry catwalk show at London Fashion Week in London, Britain, February 17, 2020.
