'During the day, it's then every step after that. Every step they take is a difficult one.'
A man from Padiham will walk barefoot for 80 miles across The Netherlands to help raise awareness for men's mental health.
As he's preparing to walk further, Ian will also be walking in a foreign country, The Netherlands. He'll be setting off on Tuesday, April 30 from Schipol Airport to Helmond Sport, a football club in the country, to coincide with the 80th year of liberation of Helmond from the Royal Norfolk Regiment. Then, last November Ian set out to do a 2km per day challenge with nothing on his feet throughout the whole month, but didn't expect there to be difficulties. "I didn't expect the grit that they put down to be so sharp," Ian said.
"It is every day that when these people are led there in bed, it's that first step out of bed," Ian said. "During the day, it's then every step after that. Every step they take is a difficult one."
