Chocolate maker Cadbury has announced it is bringing back a fan favourite sweet treat after a nine-year absence.

The old favourite will be returning back to shelves following 'customer feedback'. It was discontinued and pulled from supermarket shelves in 2014 sparking widespread outrage from chocoholics across the UK, with some even launching petitions in a bid to overturn the decision. However the iconic 'Chocolate Coins', known as a shiny stocking-filler to many, will now be making a comeback to the delight of fans. The confectionary giant said is now available nationwide in both a Festive Net and a decorative Moneytin .Katie Hill, Junior Brand Manager for Cadbury, said: "If you cast your mind back to 2014, you may remember that Cadbury caused disappointment across the nation, as we announced the sad discontinuation of our much-loved Chocolate Coins.

Sarah Foden, Archivist for Cadbury, said: "It's a joyous moment to see the return of this national treasure that has captivated generations of Cadbury fans over the years. The nostalgia surrounding this iconic product is a testament to its timeless charm, and we're thrilled to bring back the joy and excitement it holds for the Christmas season."

Cadbury is also partnering with the Trussell Trust for a fourth successive year. Across the festive season, Cadbury said it would be donating 100,000 treats to food banks in the Trussell Trust network, as well as making a financial donation to support the Trust’s longer-term mission of fighting hunger in the UK.
