'Some of the analysis was very warranted, absolutely it was warranted, but some of it wasn’t.'
A passionate Liam Cahill hailed his Tipperary players’ fighting spirit after they battled back to earn a draw with Waterford.
Cahill said: “I’m very, very proud. A tough six days with a lot of the analysis that was bandied about, seemingly, I don’t know, so I’m led to believe what I was told. “They’ll back this team to the hilt every day once we fight. That’s the main thing. And we fought for everything today. We as a group fought and that’s all we look for.
“Should have won that game,” reflected Deise boss Davy Fitzgerald. “We were four points up, with time up. After the goal, I knew it was going to be a draw. “I am extremely proud of that. This is a different bunch of guys, they are resilient. They’re deflated, they’re disappointed because they know we should have won. But that’s the way it goes.”
