A BT call centre worker who says a sudden shrieking noise on the line left him with debilitating hearing damage is suing his employer for £30,000.
Mark Storey, 48, has been suffering from intense tinnitus and sleep problems for eight years
It left him permanently suffering tinnitus, manifested as a high-pitched whistling sound in both ears, and hearing so sensitive that even the sound of a colleague tapping a chocolate orange on the table was ‘unbearable’, a court heard. The 48-year-old also insisted he warned his bosses after experiencing a previous incident of sudden noise and that they should have done more to protect him.
