Callum Walsh delivered a sensational knockout victory over Przemyslaw Runowski at the 3Arena on Friday night, despite battling illness leading up to the bout. The 23-year-old Irishman stopped his Polish opponent inside two rounds to successfully defend his WBC Continental Americas Super Welterweight title.

The Freddie Roach-trained southpaw stunned his opponent with another at the end of the first round and when the left landed again with just over a minute left in the second, Runowski, who had never been stopped in 25 previous fights, couldn't get back up in time. "I was cold, I was sweating, I felt very sick. I didn't tell anybody. But when I got out there and I heard the crowd, it woke me up, I got rid of it.
That bout is expected to come at Madison Square Garden before Walsh's team focus will switch to trying to bring him to his native Cork for an event next summer.
