Q: Merging: When entering the freeway, you are supposed to match speed with existing traffic. When I’m driving in the right lane and someone comes up the ramp to merge ahead me, I back off a bit to give them a chance to merge safely. I suspect many people speed up and don’t allow this. This creates fearful drivers who hang back before merging, and that is really dangerous. Q: I blame a lot of this on the lack of driver’s ed in high school. Can we bring that back? My 20-year-old nephew is very nervous about learning to drive and I hate to see him have to pay for a lot of lessons.
