Nurses who look after cancer patients told theipaper they had felt compelled to stage strike action 🔴 They said they are seeing treatment routinely delayed or cancelled on non-strike days and want better care for those who need it

She said tempers run high in hospitals due to the delays and that the atmosphere felt “edgy”. “People get angry, and rightly so, they are sick of waiting. I see nurses in tears a lot, it’s not sustainable,” she said.

Eleanor Ferguson, 35, also a cancer nurse who was on the picket line outside University College London, said the NHS was being “suffocated” and couldn’t meet patient demand.
