Video footage from the scene shows the car and a section of the carriageway was damaged in the incident
Emergency services rushed to Scotland Road, near the junction of Stanley Road at 5.49pm on Tuesday, September 5, following reports of a car fire. One Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service fire engine arrived at the scene five minutes later and found a red Volvo well alight on the carriageway.READ MORE: Man admits assaulting Drag Race star The Vivienne in McDonald's
Merseyside Police were also in attendance at the incident and put a road closure in place while emergency services worked at the scene.
