Emergency services descended on Elphin Street, in the Summerston area, on Thursday morning after residents were awoken by a caravan up in flames - which has been captured in shocking footage.

Emergency services scrambled to Elphin Street, in the Summerston area, just before 6am. Fire crews battled the blaze, which the police are treating as 'deliberate'.

He said: "I woke up and could smell smoke, and thought a house was on fire. I ran to my window and there were flames everywhere. The caravan is completely destroyed. There was a car next to it whose wing mirror had all melted and windows were destroyed.According to locals, this is not the first incident they have seen where a vehicle has been 'set alight'. It's claimed there have previously been four similar incidents in the area.
