She was later taken to hospital for treatment, where she learned that carbon monoxide was involved by reading a document in paperwork she was given to hold — although guards told her not to read it, she said.“At the time, no one knew what was going on; no one knew the problem up until I went to the hospital,” she said.
It is believed to be isolated to a single unit and there is no indication that this is a problem across the facility, Busse said, adding that all inmates were assessed by medical staff and carbon monoxide levels in the unit had returned to normal by 4 p.m.
