Fashionista Carol Byrne chats to us about her fashion dos and don’ts, her favourite clothes, the trends she just can’t get on board with plus her new collection with Very

Fashion influencer Carol Byrne has always had a love for clothes, despite growing up in a house full of boys. From her very first pair of Korky boots to become a top Instagram style inspiration, her journey with fashion is inspiring.

"I have five brothers. I was always into fashion and girly things. I remember getting a pair of boots from Korkys that I adored, they were red riding boots, everyone had them. My mam brought them home from work one day and I recall being so thrilled with them," she tells RSVP magazine.Read more: Irish clothing brand's perfect winter coat for size 14 up is so stylish and flattering

She can't stand the sandals and socks trend. "I remember wearing a pair of black sandals and white socks. I was trying to do the whole socks and sandals thing, but it didn’t work, it looked terrible! I also don’t like Uggs or very baggy jeans, even though they are both popular at the moment." The biggest fashion mistake people make is not paying attention to the fit of the clothes, Carol adds. "The fit of clothes is actually the most important thing. Most things can look good if the fit is correct. When people get clothes altered by a seamstress to fit them properly, it makes a huge difference."
