Caroline Flack has died aged 40

Caroline Flack's family confirmed her death in a statement

"We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us." The star hosted a number of high profile programmes throughout her career including Love Island and The X Factor.

Flack had recently been charged with assault, following a row at her London home with her boyfriend Lewis Burton and was due in court on March 4. Flack had denied assaulting Burton. After entering a not guilty plea to the assault charge at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court, Flack was released on bail with conditions that prevented her from having any contact with Burton ahead of a trial. As a result of the charge, Flack stepped away from her presenting duties on the hit dating show and was replaced by Laura Whitmore.
