Casey O’Neill is relishing fighting in front of a roaring Perth crowd this weekend... but it’s a Glasgow one she’s hell-bent on hearing just as much.
“When I signed to the UFC I wanted to fight in Australia and I wanted to fight in Scotland. I’m finally getting the Australia one now four years later and just waiting on the Scotland one to come to fruition as well. “I get a lot of people messaging me to say they are rooting for me. It is hard for you guys to come over and support me when I’m fighting on the other side of the world but I get a lot of it through social media.
“I love the food, I love Greggs, I love sitting there in the cold drinking a Kopparberg cider, there is nothing that I like more. I know it sounds dumb but I love it.” “Working on the mental side of things and working more on my self instead of a rigid game plan for someone else, so trying to be the best fighter I could be.
“Flip that, pay more attention to the positives, let your coach pay attention to the negatives and fix that. It has been working for me so far. I don’t think I ever have listened to somebody a day in my life and recently I have started – it’s crazy other people actually have good ideas!
