Molina told PennLive the woman has a mental health issue, and thought she was saving the cats. But Molina said she believes the cats were keeping the woman from getting the help she needs, saying she “struggles to feed them and herself.” “We don’t know what [how many] died before we got there,” said Molina. “I can assume that with the inbreeding and the health of them, I guarantee you there were probably more than 100. I’m sure some passed away.”
Molina described her experience when they retrieved the cats on Oct. 27. She said the cats were found living in a cramped and dirty room.
