A woman has died following a serious incident in rural Cavan last night. Emergency services were called to the scene at a house near Ballyconnell around 9.30pm.
Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses and those with information to come forward. Anyone who travelled in the area of Kilnavert last night between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, is asked to provide gardai with any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings. "Garda were alerted to the incident at approximately 9.30pm. The body of a woman was discovered at the scene. The body remains at the scene tonight. A man was seriously injured and brought to hospital for treatment.
"The man conveyed to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries remains in a serious but stable condition. The scene has been preserved for technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. "Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and those with information to come forward. Anyone who travelled in the area of Kilnavert, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, last night, Saturday 11th January 2025, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, is asked to provide Gardaí with any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings.
