Celebrities including Nigella Lawson have snubbed the Queen's honours
The honours are titles bestowed by The Queen on deserving people from all walks of life, in “public recognition of their merit, service or bravery”.
Rapping in his song Hypocrisy, he said: “Just came back from the Ivors/ And look at what we collected/ The MBE got rejected/I'm not trying to be accepted.”The actor was given the title in the 2009 New Year's Honours for his services to drama, but has told how he gave it back a few years after as he did not want to be a "hypocrite".
“At the time, we felt that we were being paid very well to have a lot of fun. It didn’t seem right somehow.
