Prominent figures from the Irish media and entertainment scene are set to appear in the upcoming season of Celebrity Gogglebox Ireland. The show, which allows viewers to watch celebrities reacting to popular TV programmes, will air on Wednesday, September 9th, at 9pm on Virgin Media.
Among the confirmed participants is veteran journalist Charlie Bird, who expressed his enthusiasm for the project.
"They approached me recently and said, 'What do you think? ' and I said, 'Yeah, I would really love to do it,' because I just love it so much," Bird said. He will be sharing the couch with Mark Wogan, the son of the late broadcaster Terry Wogan. Another broadcaster, Jennifer Byrne, who is also hosting the twelfth season of a related programme, admitted to being unsure about what to expect.
"I do not know what to expect," she said on Newstalk Breakfast. She clarified that filming would not occur in her own home.
Additionally, actress Nicola Coughlan, known for her roles in Derry Girls and Bridgerton, along with her friend Jess, will be featured. The line-up also includes Cork-based podcast hosts PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey from the "I'm Grand Mam" podcast, who will collaborate with residential property expert Liz O'Kane. The trio have previously worked together on the Virgin Media series "Help me Buy a Home", which is scheduled to return on September 20th
