The Glasgow giants charged some of the highest prices to away fans previously but will have to drop their prices
UEFA have lowered their maximum price for away fans in the Champions, Europa and Conference Leagues - meaning Celtic and Rangers will have to drop prices for visiting punters.
European football's governing body had previously capped prices for visiting fans at €70 per ticket for the Champions League, with Glasgow's big two found to be among the most expensive for away fans. A study by Football Supporters Europe found that both Celtic and Rangers charged close to the cap, Celtic's prices averaging at €69.45 and Rangers at €68.85 for the 2022/23 season, where both clubs competed in the group stage.
But a new announcement from UEFA means those prices will have to drop dramatically. They have imposed a cap of €60 per ticket for the Champions League, €50 for the Europa, and €40 for the Conference League. It means the most Celtic will be able to charge visiting fans for their league phase games is £50.53, while Rangers' pricing for their Europa League clashes with the likes of Lyon and Spurs will be capped at £42.11 for travelling punters.
Celtic recently announced that tickets for home fans to attend all of their league phase games - with Slovan Bratislava, Brugge, Young Boys and Leipzig - will cost adults £184, or £46 per ticket. Rangers are yet to announce their prices for the coming season.
