Brendan Rodgers' side only got better with a man down as the Danish U21 star starred once again.
Celtic survived a red card scare to see off Livingston and strengthen their grip at the top of the Premiership with a rousing 3-0 win.
Celts pushed for more but Livi were a threat – especially with balls down the middle with Joel Nouble targeting Gustaf Lagerbielke. The big striker got a flick on for Bruce Anderson to race through on goal – only for Hart to make a super stop. There was a scare for Bain when Nouble caught the keeper dithering and nearly scooped the ball over his head into the net. Maeda couldn’t seal with when George brilliantly blocked at his feet and sub Oh Hyeon-gyu was also kept out by the keeper.
During his first spell with the Hoops his side went down to 10 men eight times in almost three seasons – and Rodgers didn’t lose any of them. The most famous one was when Celts were victorious at Ibrox after Jozo Simunovic was sent packing but it’s clear the Irishman knows how to shuffle his sides in the event of an emergency.
DEFENSIVE QUESTIONS Rodgers managed to get the job done but there are still issues for the Celtic manager. The centre of defence continues to be a slight concern as Gustaf Lagerbielke and Liam Scales had a tough time of it against Joel Nouble and Mo Sangare. LIVI MISSED OPPORTUNITY It wasn’t just the red card that left the door open for the Lions. David Martindale’s men had the better of the Celtic centre backs in the air and it showed with an early chance for Bruce Anderson and then again for the Hart flashpoint.
