Labor Day weekend and the recent need for six major blood transfusions have contributed to the shortage, officials said.
The Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank is in desperate need of donors in light of the Labor Day weekend and six major blood transfusions that have cut into supply.
The Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank is running out of all blood types, according to the news release. Although some donors have been trying to help end the shortages, each person can only donate once every 56 days. “We need folks who haven’t donated in some time, or people who have never donated to consider coming out to help support their community,” the blood bank said.
