Ireland manager Eileen Gleeson has addressed the clash between Tuesday night's huge Euro 2025 qualifiers and a pair of massive Champions League quarter-finals.
Eileen Gleeson has hailed the fans who have opted for tonight’s Euro 2025 qualifier against England ahead of the drama of two huge Champions League quarter-finals.
Gleeson addressed the clash, saying: “You are talking about UEFA there, this is not anything in our control. The fixtures are set, the dates are set, so we can’t affect that. “Someone else mentioned new fans, it could be their first match, so I think despite the clashes, those numbers are excellent and we are really looking forward to feeling that support.
“I don’t think it’s the first time an Irish team has been tagged as an underdog, we know we’re a smaller nation, but that doesn’t mean we can’t come and compete.
