The 69-year-old, who was known as “Bishop Dave” was described by Archbishop Jose H Gomez as “a peacemaker with a heart for the poor and the immigrant”
A chapel honouring the life of an Irish bishop murdered in Los Angeles last month has been opened in his adopted city.The chapel features photos of his family and ministry and an assortment of his liturgical vestments.There are also personal items such as handwritten notes, his Bible, rosary, a books of jokes he consulted and a wooden plaque from his office with his episcopal motto “Jesus, I trust in you”.
